Vintage Final Fantasy Poster Encore #2: FFX-2
Now with garment grids!
Final Fantasy X-2 is an interesting title: It has achieved many firsts in the series including: It’s the first official sequel in the series (since the other roman numerals are contained storylines); It’s the first game without music composed mainly by Nobuo Uematsu; It’s the first game limited to a three-character party; It’s the first game to have a job-class-meets-sphere-grid leveling system, and of course, it’s headed by three fiesty heroines known collectively as the Gullwings. Oh, did I mention that the characters can now jump?
The title picks up a little bit after X left off, only this time Tidus is nowhere to be found. Main ladies Yuna, Rikku, and Paine travel the lands of X in efforts to keep the peace between three factions - The Youth League, New Yevon, and the Machine Faction before one of them unearths and activates a deadly dormant weapon simply known as “Vegnagun” in order to obliterate the other two parties for full control of Spira. All of this begins with a memorable j-pop opening of Yuna dressed in a songstress outfit singing Koda Kumi’s “Real Emotion”. Love it or hate it, you gotta admit that it’s catchy.
Despite its departure from the traditional Final Fantasy formula, it is still a beloved game among many fans of its predecessor and this game itself for its originality.
This poster and my recent FF Tactics Encore Vintage FF Poster are now on my Society6 Store. Check ‘em out if you want one to make the perfect accent for either your room or any bland white wall!
Until next time when I’ll be revealing another encore Vintage FF Poster to be determined ;)
